Microsoft has not left development in Hololens 3, according to technical people who lead the company’s mixed reality division. In a tweet seen by the threshold, Microsoft Alex Kipman told fans who were worried not to believe everything they read online. “Hololens are fine and if you are looking for internet they also say we have dome hololens2 … the last one I checked we were sent successfully,” he said.
Tweet Kipman comes in response to the Business Insider report published this week claimed the company recently canceled plans for what would become Hololens 3. Microsoft was very swollen outlet reporting. “We are still committed to the development of Hololens and Hololens in the future,” Microsoft spokesman Frank Shaw to business insider. He added that this device is “an important part of the [company] plan for the category that appears such as mixed reality and metaverse.”
Like Shaw, Kipman did not directly discuss the possibility of Microsoft to work with Samsung to develop separate mixed reality devices, also did not touch the Personnel Problem of the Microsoft Reality Division which reported to compete with. According to a recent report from the Wall Street Journal, the Kipman team has lost around 100 people over the past year, with many employees who defected to Meta.
Microsoft, however, seems to be bullish on its metavetian prospects. “We feel very good to be able to catch what I think basically is the next Internet wave,” said CEO of Microsoft Satya Nadella to analysts last month during the company’s Q2 income conference.
